EMIS unit of MOPME (DPE):

• Preparation and update of questionnaires for the annual school census and
summarised format of sub-district level information.
• Training of District Primary Education Office and Upazila staff on school census
forms.
• Distribution of school census forms and summarised forms to the district and
Upazila/Thana.
• Data entry and processing of quarterly summarised data forms collected directly
from the Upazila/Thana.
• Consolidation of data of school census forms through collection of database from
the district.
• Maintenance of the annual school census database and summarising the database
of Upazila/Thana.
• Production and publication of annual primary education statistics.
• Responses to ad hoc users’ requests on primary education statistics.

EMIS unit of MOE (BANBEIS):

• Preparation and update of questionnaires for the school census forms and sample
survey of the post-primary level institutions.
• Training of District Education Officer and in some cases, the enumerating Upazila
officers on school census forms.
• Distribution of school census forms to the district officers.
• Data entry and processing of school census forms and sample survey forms.
• Updating of Institutional and teachers database and GIS school mapping on a
regular basis.
• Maintenance of the annual school census database and school mapping system for
all types of institutions at the post-primary level.
• Tabulation, analysis of database information and preparation and publication of
annual Educational Statistics and school mapping information for the national level
as well as sub-national level.
• Preparation and publication of other reports, bulletins, etc. of the education sector
covering all levels of education.
• Supply of information on the annual survey questionnaire of the UIS.
• Response to ad hoc and regular users from national/international/donor agencies
on education statistics.
• Maintenance of website on educational statistics.
• Development and maintenance of other databases as per need of the MOE.
