06. Mohammadia Government Enrolment-930, teachers-10 (7 female). 11 members in
Primary School, Bandar, School Managing Committee. Two additional teachers and
Chittagong a night guard provided by the community. Maintain
admission register of students inclusive of date of birth of
student. Also maintain examination result register,
attendance register but no indication of repeaters. Keep
school census return form. Repeater figures retrieve from
examination result register but with guesses. School head
filled-up forms with the help of AUEO. Age data derived
from admission register but again the data are just guesses.
No admission form maintains. Tutorial examination taken
every month. There is instruction sheet to complete the
school census form but it is not taken seriously.
07. South Halishahar This school has play-group, nursery for pre-primary and
Kindergarten School, also grade 1 to 8. There are 367 students, 17 teachers (10
Bandar, Chittagong female), two teachers for play group and two teachers for
nursery grade. Keep school admission form but DoB not
available for all students. Although they have repeaters but
refrain from putting on paper. Provide data to the KG
Association. Need to participate in primary scholarship
examination but receive no chance. It uses primary
curriculum and books with the addition of other subjects,
particularly English. Their interest is to join pre-primary
education declared by the government.
08. Alhaj Hafizur Rahman Students mostly come from poor family-fishermen, labour
Registered NGPS, and factory workers. There are 473 students and only 4
Halishahar, Bandar, teachers (3 are female). Maintain admission, attendance,
Chittagong. examination result registers. No problem to complete the
questionnaire. The head teacher filled-in the forms taking 5
to 6 days. Age data provided by guessing – particular age
data put as per grade. Observe instruction of questionnaire
not read.
09. South Halishahar High Two Shift school – morning for girls and afternoon for boys.
School, Bandar, Chittagong 919 girl students and 879 boy students. 14 teachers (6
female) in the morning and 14 teachers (3 female) in the
afternoon shift. They have a copy of BANBEIS form.
Administrative clerk filled-up BANBEIS Form. Reluctant to
provide repeater figures. There is no summary derived from
the register books. Since they can not see the benefit of
providing data, they do not take the assignment seriously
and just perform casually.
10. Barrister Sultan Ahmed About 1200 students and 28 teachers. Collected data from
Chowdhury Degree College, MOE directly, in addition to BANBEIS form. Repeaters
Bandar, Chitagong. figure not provided although they keep records. Feel no
difficulties to fill-up the forms but seems time consuming.
