Functions of SAARC Documentation Centre
BANSDOC is the National Focal Point of SAARC Documentation Centre. SAARC
Documentation Centre (SDC) provides training programs in Library and Information Technology.
The following candidates from Bangladesh has been sent to SDC,NISCAIR, New Delhi, India for
taking higher training:
1. Mr. Md. Samsul Islam, Senior Librarian, Scientific Information Unit, Bangladesh
Atomic Energy Commission, Dhaka.
2. Mr. A.K.M. Jobaer, Deputy Finance Controller, Office of Senior Finance Controller
(DP), New Airport Road, Tejgaon, Dhaka.
3. Mr. Sheikh Jakir Hossain, Data Entry/Control Supervisor, Bangladesh Computer
Council, Dhaka.

Mr. Mijanur Rahman, Director of BANSDOC has participated 15 Governing Board Meeting
of SAARC Documentation Centre, New Delhi, India on 12-13 November 2009.
Human Resource Development
There is no alternative to lead organizational activities without training. Due to the
change of technology it is more important to attend new training gradually. During the period
2009-2010, the following officers and staffs of BANSDOC attended the training courses are
