                                         found it impossible to reconcile all the ob-
                                         servations of 130 years (the period of revo-
                                         lution of Uranus is eighty-four years). So
                                         he deliberately rejected the old ones, ex-
                                         pressing the opinion that the discrepancies
                                         might depend upon ”some foreign and un-
