      Essentially all physiological systems are affected by opiate addiction.
      A characteristic syndrome occurs when an opiate addict goes through
      withdrawal. This syndrome includes perspiration, tremor, gooseflesh,
      restlessness, myalgia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps,
      diarrhea, fever, hyperpnea, and hypertension.  Persistent symptoms
