                                 The Antiretroviral Pregnancy Registry
              Description:
                               was established to evaluate exposures to
                               antiretroviral medications during pregnancy
                               and to estimate the prevalence of major birth
                               defects. The registry is designed to provide
                               an early warning signal of teratogenicity and
                               to assist clinicians and patients in weighing
                               potential risks and benefits of HIV treatment.
